BOTOX® AND MYOBLOC Specialized Services

Each plastic surgeon has a unique approach to the standard plastic surgery problems. Dr. Lee employs techniques obtained through his travels through Europe, Asia and Hawaii. These techniques vary from the standard techniques commonly employed to address some of the following problems:

Eyelid crease surgery

Although about half of the Asian population does have a fold in the area above the eyelashes, the other 50% of the population does not. For those without a fold, a blepharoplasty procedure known as Asian double eyelid surgery can create a natural-looking crease.

Nose surgery

Dr. Lee prefers to use natural tissues at the tip of the nose to reduce the risk of implant rejection (extrusion). He prefers tissue from within the nose (septum) to better define the tip. Occasionally he may rely on ear tissue as a second choice. Like many other surgeons, Dr. Lee may use silastic implants (because of its proven track) along the bridge of the nose to enhance the profile.

Eye surgery for aging

Dr. Lee prefers the corono-canthopexy, a brow lift combined with lower eyelid tightening to refresh the eye area. This arches eyebrows and lifts the lower eyelid to reverse the sad appearance resulting from aging or prior eyelid surgery. Dr. Lee believes that standard surgeries which simply remove fat and skin from the eye area, while smoothing the skin, can distort eye shape and adversely change one’s expression.

Face Lift

Dr. Lee usually combines this procedure with the corono-canthopexy (discussed above). After refreshing the eye area, the skin and muscle of the face are tightened and lifted in the deep layers either under the muscle (sub-SMAS) or the covering over the bone (sub-periosteum). This avoids the “windswept” look frequently resulting from a skin-only lift.
